I used to be one of those “get up early, journal, meditate and eat colossal amounts of cheese while wearing a leotard” type people (I’m still not entirely sure about the validity of that article in “Cheese Week”).
Now? Not so much.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not totally terrible, but I’m not good either.
I’m like a Limp Bizkit album.
I need to get back on track.
Earlier this week, I posted a list of habits that I thought would be beneficial for me to assume and I’ve spent the past couple of days thinking about which of these I should embrace first.
Sleep is everything.
Actually, that’s not true. There are other things. I’ve seen them.
Sleep is vital.
It’s generally accepted that you (and me…and him) need 7-8 hours every night, so that’s the benchmark I’m aiming for.
Rather than focusing on the result though, I’m going to focus on the process.
With sleep, this is quite tricky.
I don’t want to pressure myself into having 8 hours of sleep a night, but I can say that I’ll be in bed, lying down, without my phone for 8 hours.
That’s a good start.
So that’s what I’m going to do – 8 hours in bed, in sleep position.
One thing at a time.
Just curious, how many hours of sleep do you get per night?
